Engineered Flooring is a practical alternative to solid timber flooring. It's available in species such as French Oak, American Oak, Brushbox and Spotted Gum, among others. A great advantage is that it's available pre-stained and finished in a variety of different surfaces such as scrapped and wire brushed.
This type of flooring is actually composed of two or more layers of timber in the form of a plank. The top layer (or lamella) is the timber that is visible when the flooring is installed. The core (or substrate) is the timber that is underneath the lamella and provides the plank with its strength and stability.
